玉山主峰

 - 標高三千九百五十二公尺，為台灣群山之首，東北亞第一高峰。

玉山山塊號稱台灣屋脊,主峰與環繞其四周的東、南、西、北四 峰,呈十字形排列,山容壯麗,氣勢雄渾。

群峰以玉山主峰為中心，由玉山北峰3858(4)、玉山東峰3869(3)、玉山南峰3844(5)、玉山西峰3518(24)、

玉山前峰3239(67)、東小南山3744(8)、南玉山3383(35)、鹿山等台灣百岳山峰，組成衆星拱月之勢。

群峰山塊位於本島中心，居南投縣信義鄉，高雄縣桃源鄉及嘉義縣阿里山鄉之交界處，

北迴歸線橫越而過，從平地以至巔頂，可歷經熱、暖、溫、寒不同生態相。

Ilha, Formosa !  "beautiful island"

Let's call it  Formosa Cliff now 

Formosa Cliff, (清水斷崖 Chingshui Cliff), one of Taiwan's eight top wonder vistas, is located near Hualien County's Chingshui Station in Taroko National Park.

-  In 1544 Portuguese explorers were shocked at the Suao-Hualien characteristic ocean-Island coastline while sailing to Japan .   These cliffs are soaring almost vertical at over 1000 meters from  the ocean  long stretched

in 11 kilometers from Chungteh to Hojen.  

Today Taiwan holds the icon to represent other 300 + beautiful places named with Formosa on the earth.  Indeed, the antipodal of the Cliff through the centre of the earth are coincidentally named Formosa Plateau,  Formosa Province,

&  Formosa National Nature Reserve in Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, and/or Bolivia.

山高寒 海洋深闊 - 自然生態、豐富度名列世界前茅
擁有三千六百種植物、五百多種鳥類、近四百種的蝴蝶，有高達十五萬種生物，

陸域面積僅佔全球的0.025％ ．佔全球物種數量的 一．五％ ~ 2.5％。
